ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment)

On October 3, 2015, ANSI certified instructor, George Martinez, taught a 3-day class on ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment) at our Stanford Facility. There were 9 Laborers in attendance, all of which are employed by O'Shea Builders out of Springfield, Illinois. O'Shea Builders currently has projects underway at both St. John's Hospital in Springfield and OSF St. Francis in Peoria.

Hospitals nationwide are demanding the workers be ICRA certified to protect their [hospitals] patients from the dust and disease that becomes airborne throughout the project, as most facilities are still occupied during this time. This is also protecting our members against contracting any illness from the patients.

Laborers' International Union of North America (LiUNA) Training Department has put together this ANSI (American National Safety Institute) certified class in response to the need for this type of protection for all involved. Laborers have been performing this type of work since the 1970's in the Asbestos, Mold, and Lead Remediation; it was a perfect fit for the Laborers to be ICRA trained as well!
